The hotel staff were amazing. The food was amazing. It was very nice to have a choice of Yukata in the room for women. Our treat was to have a private onsen in the room and wow, we had such a beautiful private garden. Well worth it.
Nothing but top tip, ask to double up the mattresses for an improved sleeping on tatami experience.
Exceptional service, very attentive staff, ammenities were 5 star and the food was excellent quality. Location was fantastic with shuttle services from onsen to kinosaki onsen station. Small onsen made it more warm and charming.

Honestly the stay was one of the highlights of our trip, we stayed in the annex with a garden view, the bath tub in this room was amazing, the onsen was lovely, we ended up with 2 sit down meals which were really amazing experiences.

Good food, great service. Awesome garden and the onsens were nice. Convenient location, excellent in most ways. Really cool the cocktail bar up nearby had great cocktails and could charge them to the room. Definitely visit the cocktail bar if in KinosakiOnsen, say hi to the barman from the Midori sour couple.
The meals at the Sister Hotel Shogetsutei were better.

attentive staff, very traditional Japanese ryokan. Food (both breakfast and dinner) equivalent to some of the Michelin star restaurants. vegetarian friendly - the best vegetarian Japanese I've had this trip
Loved the traditional style and the “sentimental chihiro” atmosphere. Everything was excellent: rooms, food, service, Onsen, garden. Will definitely go back the first chance possible
