Pros (+) The breakfast and dinners were superb cooked over charcoal in front of us at the table. Pros (+) Beautiful ryokan with spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms with private onsen. It was a relaxing, cozy place to return to after a long day of sightseeing. Traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious, with generous portions. Staff was very hospitable and accommodating, and made every effort to make it a wonderful stay. Location was an easy 10-min walk to the subway station.
Cons (-) Our suite was up a narrow flight of stairs, which was not an issue for us but may be for others with mobility challenges. There were some slight language miscommunications, but no major issues.

Nestled in the heart of the city, my accommodation at Nazuna Kyoto Nijo-jo offered a peaceful escape with a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The design of the ryokan was stunning—elegant, minimalist, and rich in character. What truly made the experience special was the attention to detail. From the warm welcome upon arrival to th...
