Beautiful grounds with trails to explore. Spotted monkeys in the trees next to the lodge. Food was delicious with a wonderful view overlooking the gardens. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was lovely with a balcony overlooking a little stream and lots of vegetation. Kids enjoyed the wonderfully warm swimming pool.
Wonderful breakfast. Staff was great. Our favorite hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica!
The property was easy walking distance to downtown Santa Elena. The rooms were cleaned daily. The breakfast was a la carte which was very good.
I paid £422 (GBP) per night, which in my opinion is a lot of money for a basic room. The room was big but even though I’d told them in advance we were on our honeymoon they put us in a room with two queen beds instead of one king bed as I requested. Near to town and short drive to activities We had dinner in town, but Breakfast and lunch in the hotel were good We are not coffee drinkers so staff brought a kettle Very short hiking trail, didn't see any animals

Lovely restaurant and food. The company ethos of sustainability. Location for Monteverde parks for wildlife and walkable into the town. Friendly staff.
The rooms did over look a small garden and stream but no seats to sit out and it was very small so it was a shame more wasn’t made of that. Our rooms were close to reception and as this, the restaurant and bar are all open plan noise carried easily to the bedrooms on this corridor.

Stunning setting. We loved our room next to a babbling brook and the forest views. We spent time in each of the walking paths around the property and saw many beautiful birds We also liked the short walk to town.
Good location on the edge of town, nice gardens, nice pool although small with limited loungers
With a couple of exceptions the staff were rather surly. They seemed more interested in selling you tours than welcoming you to the hotel, no help with luggage etc . The central area consisted mainly of the dining room which is like a canteen, there is no comfy sitting area for a drink or a cup of tea.
