It was very quiet, relaxing. Everything was a short walk, which was convenient. The AC was ice cold :) and the water was HOT! Loved the complimentary breakfast
I wouldn’t say “didn’t like,” but the property just needs a little TLC. Some trimming of bushes, trees, and maybe some spray to kill the growing over of the weeds. Our curtains were also full of dust, but the bed drapes were fine. Huge light outside that shined towards our window so we had light coming through the cracks all night.
The grounds were relaxing. I’m sure the gardens are beautiful in summer. Flowers were just budding so I couldn’t experience the full effect when we were there. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Bathrooms could be upgraded. Tub was high sided jet tub which if you had mobility issues would be difficult to get in and out.
The place was full of history
The bed was uncomfortable and we struggled to get a cup of coffee outside breakfast and dinner.
Beautiful house and grounds. Evening meal in restaurant was excellent.
Ok for us, but people with mobility issues need to request ground floor rooms.
The staff was wonderful, and the food great!
Our fireplace did not work and fireplace was one of the main reason I choose this location. We were never informed of compensated for not having a fireplace. Our flat screen television had a discolored wide line through the screen. Which was a huge nuisance. We had to hold our arm in the air in order to get the remote control to work with the TV.
It was amazing. Enjoyed the grounds and the historic buildings.
Historic preservation as great!
The property is breathtakingly beautiful
The food was very good, both at the restaurant and at breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Southern breakfast was very good and cooked to order. The wait staff was very nice and courteous and very fun to interact with. The tour of the home was very interesting. Sitting on the porch of our cottage with the view of the pond was a great view.
Everything was just right.
