Beautiful accommodation. Lots of atmosphere. Lovely bar area - The Cave. Tried Sweet Cheeks (deep fried Mars bar). Very tasty, but not as good as Sticky Toffee Pudding, which we tried elsewhere. Our appetizers were excellent (scallops & caesar salad). Best caesar salad I've ever tasted!
Nice room but not the one shown on our reservation. I sent a message to Meldrum House via booking.com but never received a response. The room was a bit tight as there was quite a bit of furniture. No freezer in the mini fridge. Had to order ice through the front desk.
Architecture and its History Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Very nice large bedroom and comfortable bed.
There was not a thing we did not like.
A serenity place, the room was very spacious.
We love everything!
Fabulous mix of old and new. Really great bedrooms . Set is a great setting,; a beautiful golf course.
The cave bar was interesting but wasn’t quite a bar and wasn’t quite a restaurant. Slightly uncomfortable tables - the wrong height for eating. The menus in both the restaurants and bar were a little bit strange. The chef is clearly very good but the Menu sounds as if he /she is trying too hard to be different. Breakfasts were really great.
One of the nicest grandest rooms we have stayed in, couldn’t fault it. Gasped as I walked in, we booked the manor room with breakfast. Food amazing too, dined at the cave bar and dinner was exceptional, breakfast was also fabulous.
The only thing that isn’t quite in keeping with the hotel is the igloo things outside, not sure if they were maybe a Covid thing and now just a permanent fixture, they are quite cool but they just don’t go with the rest of the visuals.
Everything, its an amazing hotel
Nothing, it couldn't have been any better
Nice big bedroom nice bathroom
Evening meal wasn't up to much they please themselves what you get for dessert if they didn't have what you want breakfast was poor and the fruit and cold meats aren't in a fridge meal was alot better the last time we stayed it was only a set menu on a Sunday his time .
The hotel is located in a beautiful part of Aberdeenshire, the grounds are well kept and well maintained. The hotel staff were helpful. However, some bar and waitressing staff did let the side down.
The hotel seems to be split in to two parts, the older part and the newer part. The older rooms are traditionally furnished however this comes with some wear and tear. For example one of the dresser knobs was missing, the drawers were clunky to close and the silicone in the bathroom could of been deep cleaned and / or re-done. On arrival we noticed that there was a kettle plate but no kettle. We h...Read more
Good size an d modern bedroom and bathroom
grounds all well kept, room was large and spacious, service all fine.
only minor grumbles were food portions were not great. also Tv in the room was pretty small compared to the size of room and really needed to be quite a bit bigger.
