It is a gem of a building and the staff are fantastic
Nothing
The property was fantastic, gorgeous common areas and rooms, very comfortable bed, excellent bath tub (bathroom in general), and extremely kind and attentive staff. Parking was easy (expensive, but it's downtown SF -- I was happy to have a secure spot). Great value for the price, I would have expected to pay 50-100% more for a hotel like this downtown. Not much on the block, but it's a good centra...
Big rooms
There is no coffee in the room, and breakfast is very bad
The room is comfortable
Terrible breakfast, bad service
Good location, very clean and very friendly staff.
The continental breakfast could have been a little more extensive and have pastries and croissants but overall ok.
Something went wrong with the dates of our reservation and they put us in a suite at no extra cost for the first 2 nights of our stay.
The last night we were transferred to a room that we were allegedly supposed to have been in, but we did not feel it was fitting to a premium king room that we booked. It felt like we were in servants quarters. Was very oddly placed near the stairwell and an office. Very stuffy and a bit cramped. We did not complain as they had given us a suite the 2 days before.
Convenient location, parking available and the staff were awesome.
The room smells like humidity
This is such a special, historical place. The staff was so kind and welcoming. They even upgraded our room and put extra touches to make us feel welcome. Very comfy bed and luxurious bathroom.
Only suggestion would be to add more easily-accessible plugs in the room - but not a big deal and understandable given the historic nature of the property.
It covered what we wanted and needed. (We are not big breakfast fans.) My husband would like cereal.
There were no napkins. Also a trash can to dispose of coffee capsules.
A beautiful step back in time
