This is hands down one of the best hotels I have ever been to. From check-in, to the cleanliness of the room, to amenities, to meals. It was all around 5 star and above. I can't recommend this place enough!
I could've stayed longer! My trip was too short!
For such a resort I find it outrageous that you have to pay for your coffee in the morning (as part of breakfast included). Also, complimentary water includes 0.5l per day per person. I have never experienced such petty attitude in a resort of this category. Disappointed.
The resort exhibits wild animals and lush greenery, with extremely attention and warm staff. The rooms are outdated and ours smelled a bit like mold but it was very clean and opened up to a beautiful garden where you could see zebras, a variety of birds, turtles, rabbits, and we saw a giraffe! The playground for children needs more work, there are just a few swings but they put up a bouncing castl...Read more
So beautiful, staff are excellent and made us feel very welcome. Great with kids. Hadn't changed in 10 years since our last visit.
Was quite hot in the room s but that was mainly due to unexpected heatwave! but they did give us a fan
The main attraction of this resort are the animals. It is the most relaxing experience to sit watching zebra and giraffe and water buck and hippos walking around. Conservation is at a critical juncture with the US withdrawing all their support so resorts like Sopa help to show why we must protect these amazing animals
The resort was excellent, the grounds were awesome including the wildlife, staff super friendly and the food was awesome all round we were glad we stayed there, cost was a bit high as our Canadian dollar sucked against the US dollar, but overall we really enjoyed our stay including the pool area
The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, the grounds beautiful and unique, the animals just beneath my balcony as good or better as any game reserve. Meals were ample and delicious - fabulous fish but the buffet had plenty of choices for any palate. A delightful stay.
The room decor could use some freshening up but the animal viewings from my balcony and outside of our meals were marvelous. Wonderful spot.
The location on the lake is outstanding and the opportunity to see so many animals close at hand is magical. Some staff, Hesbon at check in and Eric in the dining room were very good as were many others, including Timothy the Askari who took me to see the hippos. Unfortunately some other staff were not so helpful or agreeable. Beds are comfortable but would love the rooms to be more authentic in c...
Music around the pool is intrusive, especially when the sound of bird song is so amazing but it couldn’t be heard in this area. Disappointing to have to pay extra for a light lunch around the pool when on an all inclusive package. I have stayed in many camps in Kenya and this was simply too large and corporate for me.Read more
