Excellent location. You are in old town near all Gion attractions - temples, shrines, Nishiki market, Osaka line train is 5 minutes walk, all restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk, the quiet streets of geisha houses are a few blocks away. Good breakfast. Nice public onsen ( shallow pool with hot water). Bathrooms are decent for Japan standards. The only complain would be very small rooms,...

I had a quiet room in the back of the hotel on the third floor, but the view out of the window was disappointing for the cost of the room. I found the youthful staff to be nice, but not the level of professionalism I found in Osaka.
We had a fantastic 4 nights stay at this hotel. The location is great, good transport links, walking distance to a lot of Kyoto's main attractions. There are plenty of good restaurants, cafes and bars around but the hotel is very quiet. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The onsen was the cherry on top of the cake! We booked the king superior room - the entire room was bed with very little room to move around. However the bed was super comfortable and the amenities were nice.
