Pros (+) Beautiful hotel, we loved the Tiffany like windows but with Japanese design. Rooms were very comfortable, even the single beds were wider than in other Japanese hotels. Good shower, very clean. We loved the breakfast.
Cons (-) In the cocktail bar you have to pay 700yen to sit in the chair on top of the price of a cocktail, weird to ask for sitting-money

Cons (-) Apart from breakfast there was only a very pricey Japanese meal at a restaurant one needed to book in advance. No lunch option and there were no restaurants within walking distance. No guidance provided at hotel either. Kind of in a food desert.

Pros (+) Amazing location with very large spacious rooms. The spring water onsen is also a lovely feature. Rooms are much larger than most in Japan. Car park right below the property which is great

Pros (+) Lovely people, breakfast was nice very Japanese (which was a wonderful part of the experience). The Onsen was clean and nice, and the location was outstanding!

Pros (+) Great location - close to Kenrokuen Garden, museums, restaurants. We liked the incentive of 1000 yen for no cleaning service per day.
Cons (-) The old fashion keys to the rooms. Would prefer modernized key cards. Prefer guests at the hotel in the Hot Springs be more quiet.
