Everything. The room, the staff and delicious food!
Amazing place. The staff were incredible, the food was amazing and the private onsen was so relaxing. We got two rooms: a regular and a suite. Both had private onsens and both were very nice. The smaller room had a beautiful view out to nature. The suite had a roll set up behind the onsen so did not have much of a view. Can’t say enough great things about the staff. They would bend over backwards ...
Not sure the suite was worth the extra money. We probably just get the regular rooms next time.Read more
Staff was incredible, accommodating to multiple requests on transfer from train station which was critical considering the location of this hotel is not easily reachable Room and hot springs was super clean, well maintained and comfortable. Amazing dinner service.
The was a bit limited in beer and wine options, could be helpful to see menu online and plan accordingly.

Kanaya is a westernised ryokan with private onsen facilities for each room. The room was luxurious and spacious and the hot springs spa was located on the balcony overlooking the garden and woodlands. The staff were very attentive and everything ran smoothly. The spa is gloriously hot in the afternoon and evening; but not hot enough in the early morning. There are no other "wellness" activities, such as massage, yoga etc, available at the hotel. Apart from inside the room, there is no guest space to just sit and enjoy the surroundings and gardens while having a cup of tea or a glass of wine. The hotel is very luxurious and beautiful hot spring resort. It provides a gourmet Japanese and French fusion dinner, and a traditional Japanese breakfast. We had a wonderful experience with its nice service.
Location is not very convenient but they have private car pick up and drop off service.

Amazing experience staying at Kanaya. Rooms, service, the hot springs and the food - everything was wonderful. They took care to create menus for our specific dietary requirements and everything was super satisfying. Thank you
