Pros (+) Amazing stay at Jicaro Lodge! Would highly recommend including this in your itinerary. Bungalows were spacious, comfort and had a fabulous lake view. Staff was exceptional! Very friendly, always attentive and made sure you had a fantastic experience.

Pros (+) Amazing place. Supports local community projects and is environmentally conscious. A big plus! Great facilities including a bird watching tower, kayaks, lovely pool and paddle boarding options. Loved the staff, food, numerous activities and overall ambiance. I would highly recommend a stay here in this beautiful and unique lodge.

Cons (-) We expected the meals to be more varied and creative. The vegetable portions were tiny and there were limited choices for my husband who is vegan. The lamps on the night tables are unreachable once ...

Pros (+) The cabins and the landscape are attractive and well designed. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept in in a long time! The shower was very inviting and delightful. The pool was lovely though not really accommodating for lap swimming. The highlight of our stay was the early morning birding boat trip with Eduardo, an excellent guide.
Cons (-) We expected the meals to be more varied and creative. The vegetable portions were tiny and there were limited choices for my husband who is vegan. The lamps on the night tables are unreachable once one is cocooned in the mosquito net; it would be helpful to have a light switch on the headboard . There is not much to do on the island besides swimming and kayaking.
