The staff were superb. The location is excellent . The rooms with the terraces are a real bonus . The views from the rooftop bar are great.
We had a room with terrace on the 7th floor & it would have been good if the furniture on the terrace area was a little more comfortable & an umbrella would have been nice for some shade.

The staff, food, location and stylish art filled public areas (hosts exhibitions in the corridors) with a stunning view over the city to Castel San Jorge and down to the River Tagus. Many reviews of the Hotel do Chiado said how wonderful the staff are, that is certainly true. We really can't say enough good things about this hotel. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room overlooking the city and river. Our room was large and had a lovely terrace. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance and yet our room and hotel was very quiet though surrounded by a lot of restaurants and shopping.

The room was superb. The terrace was a real bonus. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel lived up to my expectations.
Only one thing. For travellers needing a twin bedded room there is no guarantee that their needs will be met. The hotel needs to instigate a first booking, first allocation system and let guests know at time of booking whether their request can be met.
