Beautiful building. We had a suite with a balcony and it was gorgeous.
Probably a very American complaint, but the a/c didn’t work and it was quite muggy in the room. Our room wasn’t ready even though we arrived after check-in, which was odd. And then housekeeping walked in without knocking even though we had the privacy tassel on the door. He said he was told we had already checked out, which again, was odd, because we hadn’t.

Hotel des Balances is located right at the centre of Lucerne OldTown, next to the river and facing the Jesuit Church. The location is excellent and although the room wasn’t large, having the balcony gave a sense of extra space as well as offering a lovely outlook. The facilities are of a very high quality and the restaurant and outside areas are superb. The staff were always friendly and attentive.
The room size isn’t large but is probably standard for the area.
Very nice location and the staffs were very kind. Our dogs liked their dog amenities.
The hotel is located in the center of the city, close to the train station and all the shops at walkable distance. The Hotel offers a wonderful view on the river and the mountains, in the evening with all the lights on, the landscape is just great. Great location, service and restaurant! The room was very comfortable, much more comfortable than in other hotels in Switzerland , coffee machine that can also make tea , impressive mini bar, good quality toiletries, great breakfast, I can go on and on, it is absolutely worth its money. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in! Thank you! My sincere recommendation to everyone!

Nearby construction was loud early in the morning.
