Absolutely amazing place! Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and quiet luxury. Very tasteful property with many cozy gardens. Gourmet chef prepares new menu every night. You can taste both local wines and ports from their own winery as well as other Portuguese wine. We loved the place!

An oasis away from the bustle of the Douro valley tourists. Beautiful location with wonderful views of the river and hills. Great facilities and room very comfortable and well appointed. Lovely food and paired beautifully with local wines. Amazing infinity pool. Staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

The view was amazing. Room was a decent size with nice decoration.
The welcome wasn't great and slightly condescending. There was no explanation regarding drinks at dinner. No alternative drinks menu was offered for those who couldn't drink alcohol. Charging for still water is not really great considering the price.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed.
I wish they offered tastings of their wine, maybe a welcome glass, perhaps a happy hour with overview of the region, the wines they make, what is special about each wine, something that acknowledged that it's a pretty pricey place which people travel to specifically for the wine and the region.
The scenery is WOW! The hotel building suits its surroundings perfectly and has plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. All the staff are friendly and professional, and able to talk about their wine offering with ease. Go for a walk through the vines to see the many varieties of birds that you can hear so clearly!
Everything. One thing to add is the restaurant: it's outstanding and with a great view. Not cheap, but outstanding, and seldomly mentioned on the reviews.
