Breakfast was amazing A la carte and great choice , service they couldn’t do enough to help you and you could see they were all very well trained and seemed to enjoy their jobs which says a lot about the culture of the management
The pool at the top was very disappointing compared to the photos and to be honest was a waste of time. It was very expensive relative to the quality overall of the hotel, I’m not sure I would rate it as 5 star but more boutique 4 star.
Fabulous rooms, comfortable. Excellent lounge areas & courtyards. Staff were excellent.
Breakfast was average for a 5 star.
Beautiful building, historic. Good location. Excellent public areas, bars etc. Helpful charming staff.
The location of the hotel was perfect. The food on the bar menu was delicious. A starter was big so we skipped the main and shared a dessert. We were both full afterwards.
The bathroom needed more hooks and dressing gowns to not be in the shower. It’s not nice to have to step onto a wet floor to get the dressing gowns. And the couple who played to entertain us were fairly appalling. I think that that standard of hotel should have better musicians to entertain. It was mostly a nice stay; However, when one books into a five star hotel one has certain expectations that are becoming standards for this category of hotels, such as having water bottles in the room by housekeeping during turn down service; or preparing the bath mats in the bathroom for end of the day or morning showers.
