Lovely traditional hotel. Smart, if old-style, restaurant. Good service.
We picked the hotel by recommendations from online but Unfortunately, our stay wasn’t as comfortable as we had hoped. The room didn’t have air conditioning, and with temperatures around 30°C and high humidity, it was quite difficult to relax. The bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The hotel has an old-fashioned charm, but it seems to cater mor...Read more
The interior decor is beautiful! The breakfast was amazing. Close to the train station.
More power sockets needed in the room. We had to unplug the fridge to plug in the kettle.
Comfy beds, nice breakfast with lots of choice, comfortable lobby, coffee machines all over, excellent staff, very clean.
Way, way too hot in the room with no means of cooling, not even a fan. I felt I was going to die in there. Made plans to sleep.in the lobby or have hourly cold showers. The reception lent us a fan (their fan, I think) and my partner mended it and we ran it on high then medium.all night and with that and having the window open we were fine. Room heats up v fast tho. Cannot recommend this place in t...Read more
Breakfast was very good, with a great range of food. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large. Fantastic location, really easy to get around from this central location.
It was a bit noisy being right in the centre and there was no air conditioning.
Step out of the station and you are there! All the staff that help us were amazing; kind, helpful and full of smiles (even though it was 30c, and no AC. The breakfasts were wonderful; great selection of meats and cheeses. The location allows to use the public transport, or walk.
It was hot hot hot! One small table fan in the room was not able to cool us down. However, we were fortunate to visit Gothenburg during a heatwave. Not really anyone's fault, but after an evening power cut the internet did not work for that night and the day after.
All good except we visited during the recent heat wave and no air conditioning. We anticipated that in an older hotel.
The staff were wonderful, really helpful with giving directions to places of interest, booking taxis etc. The history of the property itself. They have a book which I spent some time translating with Google Lens and found really interesting. This leant to my appreciation of the history of the area in general too. The room - not what you'd call modern, but so charming. The location! We came by trai...
There's no air-conditioning (common in these older buildings), but there are bifold doors and windows out onto the balcony so you can get a breeze. It was noisy, but that's to be expected in an area like this, and we were so tired after travelling and walking all day that it barely bothered us.Read more
Location next to railway Station (but that is true for a couple of other good hotels too). Nice old-fashioned style.
The old-fashioned style is somewhat marred by poor maintenance (squeaky doors and toilet seat…) No AC by more than 30 degrees is trying.
Great history, grand hotel, great location
