Pros (+) Breakfast was great with fresh bread and eggs cooked as we wished on request. The lounge with help yourself free tea/coffee was a great bonus, the log fire being welcome on cool February evenings. Having a restaurant on site was very useful and it was excellent. Pros (+) We only booked this on the Monday before Xmas for a short 4 night break between Xmas and New Year. I feel incredibly lucky that there was availability. The translation is The Ambassador’s House, and that’s what it felt like. Only a dozen or so rooms, so didn’t feel busy. Pros (+) Lovely helpful couple that seems to run the hotel making great breakfast - even baking cakes - every morning. Always friendly and we were able to have early breakfast on the day of leaving. Wonderful position - a haven of tranquility in a busy town.
