Understated hotel where all the staff were very helpful without being intrusive.

Beautifully furnished, very friendly staff.
Breakfast was expensive and slow when busy
Facilities were exceptional
Smoking allowed at breakfast tables outside, although this was not a problem for us, it could be for others.
A bit impersonal and rooms are just on the border of being a bit too small.
Modern hotel, very nice vibe at the border of the city.
Lovely room, air conditioned. Staff attentive and pleasant to deal with.
The fridge was filled with items for sale leaving very little space for my own items eg water, choc or milk. I could have done with more free milk for my tea.
The staff were the best thing about this hotel. We especially wanted a hotel with a pool and I'm not sure many of those exist in the town (check this though!) and we booked quite last minute so this is why we booked this hotel. The pool here is good - a nice cool temperature - just a little light on atmosphere!
The hotel feels very corporate - basically a conference centre. Whilst this didn't really matter that much for us (we were there for the Donosti football which our son was in, so didn't spend a lot of time actually in the hotel really), the location feels a bit like you're in a low rise industrial estate along with a couple of hospitals and associated medical buildings! The building itself is ok nothing over the top but nice facilities
Check in was poor. We arrived early and instead of being told “welcome, sadly the room won’t be able before 3pm though you could enjoy the pool on the meantime or go to the spa” we were welcomed by a blond prison warrant who replied to my “hola we have a reservation” by “Check in is at 3pm. The entire setup of the hotel - location, scenery, interieur, style, quality, diligence and people - provide you with an athmosphere where you always feel most welcome and at home.
