Pros (+) It’s a beautiful well maintained hotel! The rooms are lovely. All of the staff from the valet to the front desk to the bartenders were kind and welcoming!
Cons (-) Our bed seemed to slant on one side.

Pros (+) The bed was comfortable. The rooms were upgraded.
Cons (-) This was one of the most beautiful hotels in the country and the renovations to neutral colors are very disappointing. The rest of the WORLD is in beige and sad hues of ivory. The front desk clerk- super catty. Charged us for our deposit twice even as we assured him that it had gone through the first time. We travelled across the country to come here and arghhhh it was terrible.

Pros (+) We stayed there last year. Missed having the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious served in the lobby. Look forward to the remodel when completed. We also had dinner & it was delicious but look forward to more variety of items on the menu when work is completed. We have loved staying there. It is a charming hotel.

Pros (+) The building has some history for sure. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have robes. We had a view of the city. Breakfast was nice.
Cons (-) Coffee sucked both in the room and at breakfast. The rooms were too small. No real accommodation for dogs. If you are paying 75$ per pet, you are expecting to have dog friendly areas. They tell you to walk your dog across the street where the sign clearly says "no dogs". The hotel is located in the middle of the stone jungle. There is NOTHING around. Unless you are there for an event in the conven...

Pros (+) We love old hotels and this is a lovely one in many ways.
Cons (-) The lobby and I guess restaurant were under construction during our stay, so it's hard to say how it will end up, but their restorations seem too modern and not in keeping with the original charm of the old hotel. There was also a wedding party so valet parking and the small entrance foyer were awkward.

Walters, Nov 2024
Pros (+) Both breakfast and dinner were great, both food and service. The ambiance suffered because the hotel feels it is in transition while being remodeled.
Cons (-) Recognizing the hotel is in remodel mode, there are still disappointments and negatives. The entryway seems very dim and dingy and the half finished feel of the dining area squelches any feel of an enjoyable, lively place. Before arriving, I had in mind something similar to La Fonda in Santa Fe, where we've stayed several times. La Fonda is old and needs sprucing up, too, but it has a lively feel ...
