Our stay at Hotel Alto Lido in Funchal was overall very pleasant. We spent 10 nights there during the Flower Festival and truly enjoyed our time. The room was spacious and comfortable, equipped with a small kitchenette and a small fridge, which was very convenient. The housekeeping was excellent - the room was cleaned daily to a high standard, and the cleaning staff were always friendly and polite...
Unfortunately, breakfast was a disappointment. It was the same every day - very repetitive and of low quality. There is definitely room for improvement here. We didn’t try lunch or dinner at the hotel, so we can’t comment on that. The hotel is quite large and clearly caters mostly to large touroperator groups. Ordered a room with a sea side view and was on floor 5 but didn’t really see the sea because the sun deck on the same floor level covered the view
Very fresh urban forest interior welcomes you to this beautifuly laid out hotel, the staff and the facilities are very good..and its very close to wonderful restaurants and Funchal city center too

The mattress was a little uncomfortable. Found it difficult to get to sleep.
The proximity to the city and the hotel itself was very nice. The hotel staff is super nice. Every day that would leave us some snacks in the room and the cleaning was impeccable. Breakfast also amazing.
My stay was comfortable and the room was spacious and sparkling clean. Breakfast has so much variety to choose from.
It is typical travel agent hotel full of charter tourists so the breakfast area is missing some quiet morning ambiance. It is more like a beehive.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was cozy and well-appointed, and I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome gift – a bottle of wine, water, and some sweets. The view from the window was absolutely stunning and made the stay even more special. Breakfast was a highlight too, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. Highly recommended!
