Amazing onsen, with individual bath tubs, outside space, super clean. Our room was spacious with both traditional western beds and futton beds. We slept in the futon beds which were super comfortable. The dinner was a great experience, you eat weird stuff but it’s worth it.
You can see the hotel is a bit “tired” in some areas, and is a bit expensive for what you get.
The experience on the whole was amazing. The food, the atmosphere, the kutakas and the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. It's a must for a stay in Japan.
Unfortunately it's my fault, but couldn't use the onsen due to my tattoos. But overall a wonderful experience.
The location is very good! Near to the train station. No need to lug my luggage around
No point points near the bed for me to charge devices. Checkout time is 10am. Not able to put my luggage with the counter as they said they are closed for the day???
Nice room. Nice hot spring. Very clean. Food is excellent.
Everything was great! The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The location was perfect! It’s close to a train station and shops. We dropped off our luggage in the morning before we headed out for sightseeing, and they were already in our room when we checked in. Our room had a nice river view and it’s quiet. The dinner and breakfast were delicious traditional Japanese meals which were pre...

breakfast could have western options too
This was my favourite hotel of the trip! I loved the baths on both the 2nd and 6th floor. They were huge and the rotenburo were lovely. They also had a footbath facing the river near Reception. I had requested no seafood for our meals and it was a bit of a scramble the first night as the message wasn't passed on but the staff were so apologetic and did all they could to fix the situation. My sister has a tattoo and was therefore not able to experience the amazing baths in the hotel. She did however make use of the footbath and enjoyed having a coffee there overlooking the river.Read more
Large hotel with many facilities, services etc. and a spacious room with a nice river week. We had a fine japanese kaiseki menu and japanese breakfast at the hotel. The hotel is at the end of the main street and close to the station, shops etc.
We were in advance not aware thar the hotel’s spa / onsen facilities were gender specific (not on the hotel). The service in the restaurant was a little busy. The hotel is s bit worn out from the outside (but nice from the inside)
We loved the location, which was just a few minutes walk from Hakone-Yumoto station and close to shops and restaurants. We loved the comfortable and spacious room and the private hot spring bath in the garden. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were delicious and an experience we will never forget. The staff was extremely helpful and made us feel at home.
Nothing
Very impressive hotel, spacious reception areas and bedrooms. Enjoyed wearing the traditional robes to dinner. The meals were traditional, beautifully presented Japanese dishes - probably not to everyone's tastes, but they added to the experience.
