It is an impressive hotel right on the lake with sweeping views and if you stay in the more expensive rooms you can get to see Mt Fuji. The room is very very spacious. Staff are very professional and helpful. We were able to do a luggage delivery service to the station so that we didn’t have to return to the hotel to get our luggage after a days sightseeing.
While the location was wonderful to be on the lake, you have the hassle of getting to the hotel from the station as you have to catch a bus and with all the tourists visiting Japan, it was very very busy and crowded. Also because you are on the lake and away from the township, you have very few restaurants nearby and they all closed between 5-6pm. No convenience stores (no Lawsons and Seven eleven...Read more
Hotel is modern and rustic at the same time. Helpful, polite staff. The room was great and when you open the curtains the view of the Lake and Mt Fuji are breath taking. Even the rain on the last day was in tune with the hotel and view.
Its too far away from home in Australia. But we will be bback
The big windows in front of the lake with a chance of seeing the Fuji are amazing. The Spa area is a nice option and nice, even though quite small. The room was quite spacious and clean. overall a quite comfortable stay.

Dated room and decor. Needs renovation
Staff was very helpful
Rooms need a refurbishment
Bad directions to get to hotel - ended up on a crowded local bus with our luggage that took a long time and was an uncomfortable journey
Nice hotel with extremely large rooms. It is right next to the sightseeing cruise so having the Hakone Freepass enabled free and frequent lake cruises to the attractions, which are not near the hotel. The free drinks at the foyer were great. Unlike other comments here, I did find nearby restaurants within less than a 1 minute walk.
Breakfast was quite poor. For dinner they offer the in-house restaurants that must be reserved in advance and while I did not dine there, the pricing was very high.
Great views across the lake to Mt Fuji on a clear day.
The most unwelcoming place we stayed in Japan. Lovely large room but uncomfortable and over hot (temp cannot be changed across the hotel). Horribly hard and uncomfortable beds. I would not recommend. Claims to have a heath/ beauty spa but was closed the whole time we were there and when I asked about it, reception seemed nonplussed. Went to another hotel in the end. Either spend a little more and ...Read more
