Pros (+) Beautiful, historical building. It was clean. Most staff were friendly.
Cons (-) It really falls short for a 4-5 star. Robes need to be replaced. Staff were friendly but not one even acknowledged our 20 year anniversary???? Rooms were ok but linens and pillows were terrible. The AC wasn’t good. They need a lesson in what a 5 star looks like - in service and experience - especially if they’re going to command 5 star prices.

Pros (+) The staff, including desk/concierge and restaurant, were just excellent. Breakfast was remarkably plentiful. Spaces for lounging and/or snacking were most pleasant. Location in central Palermo was perfect for walking around the city center. Great restaurants within easy walking distance.
Cons (-) would have like a larger room/bathroom, but they were certainly adequate.

Pros (+) Excellent location and a fine example of a traditional luxury hotel
Cons (-) The updated bathroom high tech features were not fit for purpose and certainly not in keeping with the grandeur of the hotel. In particular the sink tap movement sensor only produced a momentary dribble of water making washing, and shaving impossible.
