The Hotel Granada was originally built in 1922 by Mr. and Mrs. Remage who operated it as such for forty-six years. It was located next to the Elmo Theatre, which was the towns premier Vaudeville venue. At once thought to be an enclave for traveling artists and actors during the Vaudeville era. The newly renovated Granada Hotel offers seventeen luxury boutique hotel rooms that offer exposed brick walls, nickel plated fixtures, marble and tiled bathrooms that add to the industrial chic feel of the property which leave you in a timeless era of past and present. Ideally located in the heart of the downtown you are centrally located to experience an array of nightlife, culture, hiking to wine tasting all within minutes from the property.iHotelier/iStay

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests generally appreciated the hotel's great location and friendly service, highlighting the convenience of being close to downtown attractions. However, many reviews mentioned that the rooms were quite small and lacked adequate privacy in the bathrooms, which detracted from the overall experience. Despite these issues, the hotel was praised for its cleanliness and charm, making it a pleasant place to stay for those who prioritize location and service over room size.

Wonderful
Jimmy, May 2025
Pros (+) Location was in the heart of downtown SLO with parking options available onsite or a half-block away. There was a rustic, historical charm to the hotel. The Queen suite (Room 12) facing the street had a small juliette balcony and a fairly large shower facililty. The common area had a fireplace and an outdoor patio overlooking the street. Attached restaurant was great - would recommend.
Cons (-) It was key-access only and the keychain was heavy. Not something you can fit into a pocket easily.

Pros (+) The restaurant was not open when we arrived but they took care of us anyway. They staff were friendly and the service was excellent. What we loved about the hotel and bistro was the style. Everything, every detail, had been taken care of, the hotel was quiet and not busy so we could find many corners to hang out and have a drink once the bistro closed. We loved the accessibility of the entire envi...

Colin, Jan 2025
Pros (+) Location was great and friendly stagg
Cons (-) The rooms were very small and inadequate. The windows would not open and the only way to get fresh air into the room was to open the patio door which is unacceptable. The shower was not separate to the room so caused a damp smell every time I had a shower

Bramlett, Dec 2024
Pros (+) Cozy and comfortable, very cute, walking distance to everything (shopping and restaurants).
Cons (-) Big noise issues last 3 times we’ve stayed here. Amazing but at 3am SLO has street sweeping that you can’t sleep through. Not to mention the crazy neighbor landscaping co had a blower also waking us up between 6:15am to 6:40am. Very noisy area, not hotels fault, but it’s an issue.
