Very kind staff, elevator, free upgrade because it wasn't full, nice breakfast. When the weather's nice you have a great view from different spaces. Lots of medieval details. Big room, nice bathroom with rainshower.
The location was very challenging. Steep slopes, not a good road, a bit hard to find. Need a driver, 15 mins to the city by car. A bit moist room because we had lots of rain but there is a heater which we used. They have driver's accommodation 50 mtrs down the road
Wonderful welcoming staff, spacious room with nice view, clean, great Sri Lankan breakfast that the chef made from scratch.
Not a good location. The hotel is 15 mins from town in a residential area surrounded by half-built buildings that seem to have been abandoned. The hotel itself is still a work-in-progress with many unfinished repairs and rubble outside. It has the potential to be lovely but needs work. Until then, it should be rated 3 stars.
Extremely nice staff and very welcoming. The design of the place is amazing. Restaurant food is very delicious especially and very good portions.
Room lighting could be better, very dim and the main light us white and very harsh. If lighting is better in the hotel it will show its beauty and be more beautiful

The view from the room is clearly excellent and the location has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the rooms were not fit for us to stay. The staff were very friendly and tried everything to find a solution but all rooms had issues. They were very kind and apologised that we had to leave. I hope they work hard to improve.
On entry the room was filled with flies and a damp smell. On closer inspection it was clear mould was growing on the walls. Was informed they had recently painted over the issue but with the wet weather it was clear the dampness was entering the walls. The water was not draining from the sink. It’s a beautiful and very detailed hotel. Very Dracula vibes I loved it!!! Unfortunately we didn’t really love the town so we left a night early but were so disappointed to leave the hotel. Great chopsuey veg! The staff were so friendly they helped us the next day with our transfer :)
A bit slow in making the food but everywhere in Sri Lanka is like this so maybe it’s normal
Probably beautiful view, but very foggy during our stay so couldn’t see much. This of course is not the hotel’s fault
The road leading to the hotel is almost dangerous. I strongly urge the hotel to get this fixed as soon as possible so nobody has to suffer through this. The medieval theme is very creepy. We arrived in the evening and the light in the room is so mellow/dim despite turning on all lights.
