Peaceful and relaxing. The area is still beautiful despite evidence of the devastation caused by wild fires in the recent past. We recently stayed at Eleonas Hotel for four nights at the end of June and had a wonderful experience. The hosts were very welcoming and lovely, making us feel right at home. The house was beautiful, situated amongst an olive grove. The outside seating area was a tranquil paradise overlooking the sea. The host Marina was amazing, informative, helpful and charming. Breakfast was a delightful array of locally and homemade produce. The bed was very comfortable. The towns of Ilia, Loutra Edipsou, Limni and Agiocampo are well worth visiting for swimming and eating.
A car is essential to get to the house and to any of the island amenities. The road leading to the house is poorly maintained and potentially difficult to ascend both in a car and on foot. The room we stayed in was a little small and the lovely seaview occluded by shrubbery. Some of the activities mentioned in the advertisements were not available, yoga for example. We most liked the feeling of hospitality and the effort of the owner to make us feel confortable and sofe taking all the precautions necessary in this difficult COVIT 19 summer. She was very gracious and our memory of our stay a wonderful one.
