The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The service was prompt and helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Apparatus Room. I liked the bigger bathroom and shower. The high ceilings gave a sense of being somewhere special. The history of the building and Detroit was reflected in the decor and artwork found in the room and in the hallways.

Cons (-) No coffee in rooms, rooms very dark/need more lighting. There was some plaster work being done on our floor (4th) and there were white plaster footprints and stains all the way down the hall past our door which were there for several hours. I told someone at the front desk and they didn't apologize or offer to suggest someone would clean it up. Very unsightly and unclean.

Pros (+) Very close to Huntington place conference venue
Cons (-) We were checking out around 5 am in the morning with an infant on the stroller and multiple luggages, leaving us with no extra hands. There was no doorman and when we asked the front desk staff if she could help us, she basically just told us to push ourselves out. Awfully rude. Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Pros (+) Room was very nice and clean, very comfortable bed.
Cons (-) Outside noise, for the money I'd rather not hear every bus that drives by. Restaurant was closed, make shift bar area was underwhelming and had very little seating. We had to take our drinks back to our room.
