Exquisite colonial hotel !!!!
Fantastic experience. I’ve traveled to Cartagena on and off over the last 20 years. I normally stay at the Santa Clara. This is our first stay at the Santa Teresa and we will definitely be staying again.

The only issue had to do with the guests upstairs making noise while moving chairs around
It’s a lovely old colonial building and they’ve done the most they can to try and make it comfortable for modern standards, but it does look tired in places. The rooftop is wonderful with a great large pool a fantastic view of the ocean, bocagrande and sunsets. We had were no hot water, every shower we took was cold. When splashing out on the king room with balcony it was quite surprising. Despite it being hot most days I didn’t want a cold shower every time! Everything (all prices) excludes service, where a small bag of laundry ended up costing an eye watering $220, despite us asking them not to iron (triple the price). Breakfast was excellent, great choices of fruit, eggs, omelettes, bread types, and juices. I have to give a HUGE thank you to the concierge Estefani! She went above and beyond. She helped book 2 boat tours at the last minute. More importantly, she helped me navigate some airline issues.
There was a nightclub that played pounding music which we heard in the middle of the night. We asked for a dehumidifier to drown out the base of the music.
I really loved this hotel. The staff was great and very helpful. The hotel was historic and beautiful but the rooms were very modern and updated. The location was ideal for exploring the old city. It was heavenly to sit at night on the front plaza and enjoy the sea breeze. The food was all excellent.

Maybe add an accent rug to finish tying up the beautiful rooms elevating the aesthetic of the room and creating some comfort on your feet when getting up from bed. Just a comment.
