Beautiful property with a lot to offer. Enjoyed the trails by the river and the amazing wildlife guide Rueben who spent hours looking for an injured/lost baby sloth. I was impressed with his love and respect for nature.
I love the hotel, but did not realize how far it is from town. Also disappointed that it was not hot springs, but spring water being heated, but it was not not working, so the pools were cold.
The Staff! Incredibly friendly and helpful. Staying with Fabian at reception, who took us on a small tour before we even got to our room, to our amazing wait staff at the restaurant, Anthony, Pamela, and all the others. The waterslide into the river was a perfect way to start the day!
The only thing I would change was having a chair inside the room, so there was someplace other than the beds to sit on. There was ample seating and a hammock on the deck though.
Nice if you’re trying to relax and escape from everything. You’re surrounded by nature
The food is way overpriced! It’s not bad food but definitely not worth what they charge for it. They take advantage that there’s really no restaurants near the hotel to charge a lot for the food they serve. $32 for 4-5 wings with fries is insane! And also the “hot springs” are not really hot. They’re more like a warm pool so if you’re looking for hot springs go somewhere else. They don’t have real...Read more
The location is amazing, your own hire car is highly recommended. The resort is a unique nature experience with passionate welcoming staff. The hot springs, river, both restaurants, guided walks were all amazing. Only regret is not staying for 4 nights instead of two.
Could give any constructive feedback, great haven for nature lovers.
Our stay at Chachagua was fantastic! The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained, it was easy to navigate. The hot pools were such a bonus after long days of hiking. The restaurants have great food options, including vegetarian items. The staff was extremely friendly, personable and attentive.
There is a small river you need to cross to get to the parking area closest to the bungalows. Having rented a smaller AWD vehicle and booking tours directly with the companies, we chose to park closer to reception. It was a bit more of a walk but allowed us to enjoy the grounds and hear all of the birds! The grounds can be dark at night so use caution.
The hotel is great. It is located at the middle of the forest and has a huge territory with jungles, waterfalls, lakes and hot springs.
The only bad (really bad) thing is the breakfast. The selection of food was very small -just a few dishes to choose from and the quality of food was very low too. Cheap motels in the US usually offer better breakfast than this hotel.
It was beautiful and loved the breakfast and the hot springs and the nature walk
Just a little farther out than I expected
Hot springs, forest trail, location, staff
Rooms are very dark, bathroom not maintained well
The staff were so warm, helpful and friendly especially Brayan. The resort was really cool and immersive with hiking trails, yoga, hot springs. being in the middle of the rain forest was a special experience
The bungalow felt a bit damp which was slightly uncomfortable but I probably should have expected it since it’s in the rainforest
Every ounce of the property was spectacular! We saw monkeys, tucans, lizards, you name it! We could not get over how gorgeous everything was and especially for the price! Food was also great!
It is in a bit of a secluded area (which we loved!) but made us hesitant to drive at night! Luckily the resort had everything we needed and more but we made sure to get back from our activities before dark.
