Incredible spot to stay, right on the water. Memorable stay.
Security camera outside made us feel very uncomfortable, it’s unnecessary to have that close to the house. No other accom we’ve ever stayed in has had this. Outside light ruined our sleep each night, and we’re told it’s unable to be turned off. Definitely a huge factor the owner needs to consider, if it has to stay on then maybe get proper blinds?
Location was good, a bit of a walk from the main town. We did not have a car and there was not much else within walking distance, so we walked into town often, plan accordingly. Parking is available if you do have a car. Oscar was helpful in getting us a cab to the location on our arrival since google was not helpful in finding the house.
Was a bit lacking in amenities. Kitchen hand towels, paper towels, and blanket needed to be requested but were all provided upon request.

Coffee maker didn't work
Pros: directly on the lake with wonderful views of the water as well as Varenna. You are close enough to the town (Varenna by a 20 minute walk past a beautiful garden / park) while also feeling you are closer to nature. The wifi for our stay was strong and the kitchen items were clean and in good order. The host, Oscar, was also very responsive
The bed was a bit hard but that’s personal preference. Some won’t like that the town is a 20 minute walk (though you can park in a garage in town)
Beautiful view of the lake and Varenna. You couldn't be any closer. Access to swim, although due to the lake levels it wasn't as easy to access. Clean facility with parking just above. Peaceful location.
Unable to park until the second day of our stay even though parking was confirmed. The parking was comped though thankfully. The wifi never worked. It was a longer walk than expected to Varenna along a very narrow road partly with no side walks.
Casa sull’acqua is a perfect little home from home. We loved our stay here. It is a fabulous flat right on the water with big windows overlooking the lake to wake up to beautiful views. It has a balcony and 3 terraces, one of which has a ladder into the lake. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

no air con - unit had been removed months before and we were not informed - a fan was provided but hardly a replacement - price reduction was agreed but we have never seen any refund

Marco was a wonderful host and actually picked us up from the train station when we couldn't get a taxi. We loved the location right on the water, we were swimming off the dock every day and were able to see gorgeous stars over the lake in the evening. The apartment is a 15 minute walk to town, passing by a gorgeous villa/botanical garden on the way.
The walk to town was on a pretty narrow sidewalk, but that can't really be avoided. Overall the stay at the apartment was very lovely.
