The interior design is breathtaking and does justice to the photos. There are lots of lounging areas, and the first floor lounge especially was our favorite. We were surprised how big our room was and the bed was very comfortable. It can be made to be very dark with the blinders off which was important as we’re light sleepers. The staff was particularly helpful are well versed in English. We were ...
The key locking mechanism of our room was a bit weird. There is no independent lock from the inside and we had to use the same room key to lock from the inside. We also received only one key and couldn’t get a second so we couldn’t really leave the hotel separately without leaving the door unlocked. The breakfast restaurant was very subpar, as they got every single one of our orders wrong. Service...Read more
Location is excellent, 5 minute walk from the main square. Hotel was beautiful it lives up to its name as a boutique.
Location, only 5’ walk from the main square. Well appointed and spacious room (001). Excellent soundproofing. Quality restaurant on site. Attentive staff. Luxurious bathrobes.
Missing a few luxury touches to justify its 5 star status. Only one hand/face towel, only one hook to hang 2 bath towels and a face towel. Had to ask for a second rubbish bin for the room. They only had one in the bathroom.
In the heart of Mexico City Casa de la Luz shines out . Wonderful Building and history, sensitively and beautifully restored. Wonderful staff who go that bit extra to help and make your stay so fabulous. Many Thanks to all at this Great Hotel.
There is NOTHING not to like.
Hotel staff was exceptional in every way. Very central location. Loved the historic character of the hotel
Breakfast far exceeded expectations in terms of quality and ability to pick from a menu at no cost. Staff was courteous but service was very slow. As tourists, we had schedules to meet, but often had to mention our need for checks and/or quicker service.
What a stunning property, from the stonework to the arches to the dramatic stairs. The rooms are large and airy, with high ceilings and great light. Bathrooms are spacious. There's an elevator and a great rooftop restaurant. Staff is lovely. The location is good if you want to be near the cathedral. For other places like Roma Norte or Juarez, you'll be in a cab for 20 minutes. That didn't bother u...
Our biggest (often laughable) complaint was the door locks to the room. They are older and the keys have to go in 'just-so,' which means you struggle to arrive or leave your room. They really need to fix these. At one point, it took me a full 5 minutes to finally open my door. I also think they could provide bigger in-room water bottles. The bottles are small and they will bring you more for free,...Read more
The size and decor of the presidential suite in relation to cost. High high ceilings, cool furniture, elevator, big windows, comfy bed.
The bathroom is too dark, one can't even put makeup on in there. It should have more hooks for towels. Towels should be of better quality.
Wonderful place! Amazing building, great attentive, helpful, friendly staff. The breakfasts were excellent, & the restaurant was good for dinner as well. Location was perfect.
Nothing really. Suggest providing a large dispenser of purified water so guests can refill their own water bottles.
The hotel was in a stunning old building, beautifully adapted into into a hotel The room was well appointed and there were several reading areas outside the rooms. The staff were very friendly and ready to do anything for you. Location was great, easy to walk round historic area and to catch metro.
All good
