Breakfast was great. Nice selection good long hours.
Location is OK，not far away from George town centre. I like the swimming pool，nice view and very chill
Rooms were big and the 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for our family of 5. The hotel has a shaded kids pool, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, which made it great for young children.
Location is good with gurney walk just besides it and quite near to gurney plaza and gurney paragon. Room was clean and spacious.
No bottled mineral water in the room as they offered filtered water tap instead. But this is just a minor issue. Will still choose to stay at ascott if we visit penang again.
Breakfast quality was OK, variety of options.

Great location and easy access to nearby attractions. There are some shops in the adjacent building which allows buying some small items. The walk in the park in front of the hotel was very pleasant with comfortable sea breeze.
I can hear the music from the entertainment outlet below. It was audible but fortunately did not affect my rest. Higher floors are recommended.

This is badged as a five star hotel and in some ways it lives up to this in terms of providing very large and well furnished bedrooms (with great showers) and the general spaciousness of the public areas. Most of the staff (eg front door, room cleaning) were courteous and provided good service. The location is good - within easy reach (via Grab - the best value taxis ever) of large shopping malls ...
I would love to join a team for a day tasked with improving this hotel! It has all the necessary ingredients, but currently, it totally lacks 'soul' or atmosphere. The entrance lobby is huge, but the reception staff are positioned right at the back of it and are almost invisible.
