Cons (-) We stayed in a suite. And it was surprising to learn that you have to pay extra for water in the room. It looks strange when you charge so much for a night in a hotel, and then another 3 euros for water)))))).

The staff is fantastic, from the front desk to barman Guido, Veronica who showed us the winery, Alfonso the maitre and the restaurant staff, all went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Cons (-) The location is a bit remote from Piemonte’s main sights (on the upside, it is in a quiet and beautiful area with small villages and vineyards). Note that while there is a pool, it is a 10 minute walk from the main building. We did not use it and had the impression other guests did not either.

Pros (+) Everything from the quality of the buildings, to the views were spectacular. It was a quiet getaway conveniently located to the town and vineyards of Gavi. The service was exceptional and the pool was an added bonus.
Cons (-) The Gallina restaurant, while very good, overworked the food for anyone looking for a traditional or comfort meal that the Italian cuisine is renowned for. But, the quality of the mostly 'homegrown' produce was exceptional.

Pros (+) This was one of the most memorable trips of our lives! We met the whole family. Watched them work their land - even got a taste of the harvest. I couldn’t not recomend more highly.
