The Barn at Flanagan Farm, a sublimely refined late 19th century Maine barn and farmhouse, provides an exceptional event space and gracious accommodations on one property. Previously owned by Gwendolyn Flanagan (1916-2008), the sixty-six acre farmstead was purchased in 2011 by Gail Landry, who granted a conservation easement on the land to Maine Farmland Trust, thereby committing to keeping the property a Forever Farm.

The scene:
Upon entering the post and beam barn, guests are greeted by three whimsically sophisticated chandeliers designed and crafted by local sculptor, Joe Lops, and dragonfly-etched sconces radiate a warm elegance throughout. Formerly a chicken coop, The BAR at Flanagan Farm has been re-fashioned with reclaimed barn wood, Carrera marble countertops, a vintage slate sink and floor to ceiling wine storage enclosed by chicken wire cabinetry. The gentlemen's hayloft lounge, located just above the bar and accessed by a grand staircase from the barn, is furnished with a mahogany leather Chesterfield sofa, a pair of overstuffed, striped chairs and vintage Turkish Kilim rug. The custom, twelve-foot windowed rear barn doors open onto a bluestone patio, manicured grounds and a cleared six-acre pasture, or to dinner and cocktail tents should you choose to have them. The Farm House is equally delightful and the eye catches a new treat at every turn. It is a sophisticated 2,400 square foot farmhouse, re-imagined and refined by Brooklyn-based interior designers David Nastasi and Katherine Vail of Nastasi Vail Design, offers fully furnished accommodations for out-of-town guests that are delightfully tranquil and luxurious. The three-season groom's cottage, located just off the exterior of the house, is the perfect gentlemen's retreat, featuring a stocked bar and views of a six-acre cleared pastured. The Grounds add to the overall rich experience of the venue. On sixty-six estate-like acres, (designated a Forever Farm by Maine Farmland Trust in December 2011), you will find a six-acre cleared pasture for dinner and cocktail tents, room for play, pear and apple trees, all white flowering plants, a bluestone patio and private woodland sanctuary. Six cleared and manicured acres complete with white flowering gardens and open fields suitable for dinner and cocktail tents or outdoor ceremonies.
